Experience Making Not A But THE Video

When people come together they are no longer individuals, but a group working towards one goal, with the same amount of focus and effort. There are many things that come into play when working on a group project.
Before anything happens, shooting, editing, and uploading, the first thing that comes about is brain storming ideas from the given topic. You all need to come together and agree on a certain representation of the topic. Yes, there will be disagreements at first and that's ok, but you need to agree on something that will individually show the creativity of each member of the group.
Shooting footage isn't hard at all because each member is shooting footage thats relevant to the topic. The difference though is that each persons' footage is from their view or aspect. Its how they imagined it, and this bringing it to life right in front of them. At first, trying to edit the video seems pretty complicated and thats because you may not have any experience with the iMovie software. Once you get familiar with some of the basic editing tasks in iMovie it becomes less daunting or annoying. The edit part is where the group puts their minds together, showing each members creativity while bringing the videos together as a whole. Posting the video online is the easiest part. It only takes a matter of seconds or minutes and that includes setting up an account if you don't already have one.
Writing this couldn't be the right communication tool. Don't get me wrong, photographs can tell a lot about something but only to a certain extent. It's a stand still portrait without any movements. Your eyes would have to move all over the and cover every inch and corner just to get a feeling of what the photograph is trying to tell you. That doesn't go for all because some are very easy to interpret while others are complex. The perfect communication tool would be to use a video.
Showing the politics of meeting new people through one photo is impossible, and if being written people can lose interest. People like to use their imagination and thoughts to picture what's going on, so why not have it in front of them in video form. The video helped to show the different ways of meeting people, one in which is the approach. You see how each group member interacts with strangers while going about their everyday lives. Its shown that its easy to meet people when you have something in common, take the same class or need help with something, like at the gym. There isn't always a positive outcome and because of that you are shown in one part the negatives of meeting new people, there reactions to such interactions. There's a million other ways you can meet people you just have to be confident and put yourself out there. The message was expressed in video form and was understood by viewers, all while capturing the essence of the theme.
There wasn't anything that effected the subject matter of the group video. Meeting people isn't at all easy to most. When coming up with ides it seems to be an easy subject matter, but that all falls apart once you figure you actually have to put yourself out there to get your point across. At the beginning stages when looking at the required time of three minutes and thirty seconds , you become frantic and a little nervous. Having each member record in ways they met people was of importance to the group video. Its because everyone is different, from there approach, to the conversations they can uphold with the interest of the stranger.
The self-portrait experience was very different from the group video and that's because they were separate videos for each individual in the group. Whatever piece of footage each person had was from there point of view or aspect. It is your representation of the theme, which is the Politics of Meeting New People. Since your seeing the self-portrait from the members point of view doesn't mean you only see it as a point of view film. You see the members in their films, and that shows you there involvement and interactions with people from different angles. It's every members thoughts and images that were seen only in their heads and was brought to video, which can be viewed by people.
To say there was issues uploading the video to social media sites would be a lie. Uploading this video by far is the easiest part of this project. That has to do with our generation and how we are constantly surrounded by social media no matter where we go or what we do. People are constantly posting pictures and videos which makes uploading things to social media a part of people's everyday life. If the file is on a flash drive, drag it and put it on your desktop. Then, open up the site of your choice and upload the video to your account. The loading process for the upload may take a couple seconds or minutes, depending on how large the video is.
Overall this video was a lot of fun to make, and was a collaborative success. It taught newcomers about iMovie and how you could use it everyday to edit your own personal videos if you choose to. This was something that made people step out of their comfort zones. Some members could be good at expressing certain ideas through writing or talking, but to some video seemed complex. The plans and ideas were endless, which is fine because video is something new to some. This assignment let people be expressive in their own ways, while still keeping the theme of the overall assignment in tact. Many may have a different way of going about incorporating a message in a video. Meeting new people is nerve racking, but just think the worse someone can say is no or sorry.
