With anything in this world its always good to be ahead of the competition, and if that means having your own personal website then why not. Instead of just having a resume on paper you could have a professional website that shows employers works' you've done in the past, as well as the addition of a biography and contact information. The website offers an interaction, it's almost like a visual resume. People who are looking to hire have the ability to interact with your work and connect to the social media outlets you use through links.
The social media projects like twitter, Blogger, etc... all come together on your portfolio and it makes it easy to connect with organizations, companies, and businesses. Twitter is a microblogging site and its about broadcasting daily short burst messages to the world. Every tweet is limited to 140 characters or less. This size cap promotes focus and clever use of language. Blogger is something where you can express ideas and views at length, in a more descriptive and detailed manner. Those people who view your blogs are those who are interested in the subject matter you're spewing out to the public. Linkedln is valuable resource for career and business professionals to network, get sources and support, and build relationships with potential customers, clients and partners. With the use of your different social media outlets, it shows that you can communicate in a professional manner.
Tying in social media to the website is a must because it connects many on-lookers and viewers to the user's brand. When you ling everything on one source, the website becomes more of an interaction space with traffic going in and out. When one of your accounts is accessed, its only a matter of time before people stumble upon the website you created.
Designing a website is tedious and somewhat stressful and annoying. Though at the end all the struggle and anxiety is a rewarding process. Dreamweaver is an Adobe software, that has a lot to offer if you already know how to use it. For newcomers and beginners who are unfamiliar its pretty much a nightmare because of what Dreamweaver entails. There was many challenges when building a website, the two and most obvious are HTML code and CSS. There is a split screen to help you see how what you do on the left screen effects the right and vice versa. There were three tabs that were separated content, index, and portfolio. The portfolio page has all of the works' you've completed, linking them to tabs in a we browser or to other softwares. The content page is where you have a professional photo of yourself as well as a short biography. You want your website to stand out, but you also want people to get an understanding of you and what you've done in a professional manner. Yes, it is challenging to use Dreamweaver, but once you get the hang of it the completion of your website will be an accomplishment and a useful tool to expand your horizons.
